Carolina Classifieds.com will be beginning operations in October 2007

Printer Company Inks Deal in Monroe

Carolina Classifieds.com, LLC, a printing company, has announced plans to locate its headquarters, customer service center and distribution point for their products in Monroe, North Carolina.  The company will invest approximately $8.76 million in the facility that will produce a weekly magazine known as the “Carolina Money Saver” with distribution to markets throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and other states in the Southeast.  Carolina Classifieds will be purchasing the former Schrader-Bridgeport International facility located at 1609 Airport Road in Monroe.

“We are extremely proud to be new corporate citizens of North Carolina,” said company CEO Scott Patterson.  “As we witnessed first hand during the sometimes arduous and tedious site selection process, North Carolina, especially the greater Charlotte region, has a deserved reputation for its highly educated, skilled, and motivated workforce.  We are looking forward to partnering with this talented workforce in the immediate future.”

Renovations of the facility will begin in early 2007 with the projected commencement of operation to be October 2007.  The company intends to employ 287 people over the next four years.  The new jobs will be a mix of sales, management, printing press operators, and distribution positions.  While wages will vary by job function, the average annual wage for the facility will be $33,628 plus benefits.

“We are very excited and pleased to have Carolina Classifieds join our community as the newest corporate citizen,” stated Craig Meadows, Monroe City Manager.  “The company will be a welcome addition to the host of successful companies in the Airport area of the City.”

“Carolina Classifieds is a high-quality company with a strong and principled management team. They are a prime example of the type of companies Monroe actively seeks in its recruiting efforts,” stated R. Christopher Platé, Director of Monroe Economic Development. “This project was successfully located to our community not only due the local economic development efforts, but because of the incredible assistance provided by our local allies.”

The company has received incentive grants from the City of Monroe, Union County, and the State of North Carolina, which included the Job Development Investment Grant, or JDIG.

“In the State House of Representatives, we have worked hard to establish the kind of pro-business climate that attracts well-paying jobs,” said state Rep. Pryor Gibson. “As a chairman of the House Finance Committee, I have sought to implement policies that provide the kind of pro-business climate employers seek.”

Special appreciation goes to the hard work and leadership of the Charlotte Regional Partnership, Womble Carlyle Attorneys, NC Department of Commerce, Union Electric Cooperative, South Piedmont Community College, the NC Community College System, Binswanger Corporation, and L.B. Smith & Associates Architects.
